The SHAMA Crisis Connection team has been delivering cultural competence training for crisis organisations across New Zealand. In this presentation, they discuss some of the findings. How often do workers in mainstream organisations raise conversations about culture and faith? How do mainstream organisations capture statistics about ethnic diversity? Do they ask for cultural support/supervision? Understanding how we are doing as organisations who want to work well with people who are culturally, linguistically and religiously diverse is a really important step towards positive change. Hear from Juanita Rojas, evaluation lead for the Crisis Connection team.
