Gwyneth Williams
After a decade working in the memory service, and as a clinical nurse specialist in the older persons mental health service, I have spent the last 10 years working in the Mental health crisis team.
For the last several years I have had the role within the crisis team of providing assessments and crisis support for people under the age of 18.
In addition to this, I have an informal role in mental health training for the DHB, facilitating clinicians in training around risk assessment and management, in holistic assessment skills, and in the use of the Mental health ACT.
Until recently I also provided the theory training for new duly authorised officers.
I am currently engaged in a postgraduate adolescent CBT module at the University of Auckland.
I have a passion for supporting youth and their families to do well, and in particular to navigate the difficult balance between supporting the youth to self-efficacy , whilst still maintaining a safe environment in times of crisis.

Darren Mills
Darren graduated with a degree in occupational therapy in 1998, working in mental health practice settings in the UK. He has spent eight years working in several Asian countries, coordinating projects in the field of International Development and Humanitarian Aid, specifically focusing on community mental health service development, child protection, family empowerment, and the ratification of human rights policy. On arrival in Aotearoa New Zealand in 2009, Darren returned to mental health practice settings, working within the community, triage, and crisis assessment and home treatment teams at Waikato DHB. Although now working full-time as a lecturer in occupational therapy at Otago Polytechnic, Darren continues to work on a casual basis with the crisis assessment and home treatment team to maintain a clinical practice role. He completed a Masters in Health Research in 2017 on recovery philosophy and is currently completing a post-graduate diploma in tertiary education through Otago Polytechnic, and a doctorate through Auckland University of Technology. In 2018, he published a book chapter in the UK and presented at the ‘7th Qualitative Research on Mental Health’ conference in Germany. He has specific interest in recovery philosophy, family/whānau roles and rights in mental health settings, and occupational justice for marginalised and vulnerable populations.

Dr Tejpal Singh
Dr Tejpal Singh, is a consultant psychiatrist working for Waikato District Health Board. He trained in psychiatry in the United Kingdom and is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
He holds the post of the clinical director of the Community Alcohol and Drug Service of Waikato DHB and is involved in teaching and training of registrars, medical students, and other staff in addictions and general psychiatry.

Jenny Snowdon
Jenny Snowdon works as a counsellor and professional supervisor and part-time teacher of counselling practice. She has had years of involvement with DCNZ through supervision with some of the counsellors, facilitation of Tree of Life workshops, and discussion with Japanese professionals groups about the writing of French philosopher Michel Foucault. Her interest in finding effective and ethical ways to work with people when there is a risk of suicide is always a work in progress.
